Favorite General Conference Quotes || Free Printables

It was so nice to unplug and be inspired throughout general conference this last weekend. It was just what my soul needed. These five quotes are just a few of the things the general authorities shared that touched my heart.

I was especially grateful for the short and simple words spoken by the prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Thomas S. Monson during the Sunday Morning session. It was a message of encouragement to always choose the right. If you missed any of the sessions or are interested in watching these inspiring messages, you can view them all on

I love that through the spirit the words of the prophets, apostles and church leaders can speak right to our hearts in a very individual and personal way. What's amazing to me is that so many can be touched by the exact same phrase, but still get something completely different from it.

I'm so grateful for my faith and the comfort it gives me on a daily basis. It's such a deep rooted part of my life and I hope it stays that way forever. I know that my belief in God and my Savior has blessed my life as I strive to be my best self.

I hope that this blog helps others feel happy and inspired on a regular basis. That it encourages others to keep trying to be their best selves, in whatever way they think that is achieved. Regardless of faith, background, or differences. I hope that it encourages others to live what they believe and not be ashamed of it. If it brings you joy, share it with others! That's what I'll be trying to do my whole life long.

Now, here are the links to download each of my 8x10 printables. I hope you'll print them out, hang them up, and feel inspired all year long! And if you don't want to ever miss my other design freebies or posts, subscribe to my email list as well!

New Year's "Revelations"
New Year's Revelations || A Dash of Salter || change is good, ocean, peace, inspiration

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted on the good old blog. Between the holidays and planning for Turner’s birthday party I’ve been swamped! In that time I also did a lot of contemplating about my goals for this year. I want to share with you some of my New Year’s “revelations.”

I’ve always struggled with doubts in my abilities to succeed. A lot of my life has been spent avoiding risk so I could avoid what I believed to be inevitable failure.  I’m grateful for the loved ones in my life who push me to take risks because without them I would have a very unaccomplished life.

Even now, my husband is constantly trying to persuade me of my talents and abilities. Until these last couple of weeks, I would say his attempts have been in vain. I’m starting to feel a change within myself. I’m starting to recognize my strengths and accept them. I’m starting to realize I’ll never succeed unless I believe in my own talents and abilities. Very soon I’m going to be taking a few risks and opening myself up to vulnerability.  For the first time I’m excited about what that will help me become.

I also fasted and prayed about some personal questions and received inspiration to study my scriptures on a daily basis. I have been reading the Book of Mormon every day this week and writing my thoughts in a journal. I cannot believe the amount of inspiration and insight I’ve already received. I know as I continue this habit throughout the year, it will be such a blessing in my life.

I still have a lot to improve on, but I’m excited about the few changes I’ve felt impressed to make in my daily life. I decided instead of calling them resolutions, to call them revelations. That’s exactly what they are. Change can be negative to some and exciting to others. And I’m happy to say I’m excited about the changes being made in me.

What are some goals you’ve been inspired to set this year?

p.s. I gave the blog a makeover. Did you notice? ;) I wanted to give it a little modern touch. What do you think?

For any of you who are feeling unimportant in a world of comparison and competition, I want you to know, you are capable of amazing things.

I'm constantly feeling less than I am, questioning that I can accomplish my wide eyed goals, and wondering what others think of my trying efforts. Just a few days ago I was having one of those feeling moments. Those moments where I question if the things I want to learn and accomplish are even possible. I wonder if I'll ever be worth something to this world. If I'll make a difference.

Then I watch my son, learning and growing. He obeys a simple request, and I start to realize that my work as a mother is so important. I say work because that's EXACTLY what it is. Constantly trying your best to be an example of good habits and teach your children new things is exhausting. It's also extremely rewarding. Nothing lights my life more than when my son shows me he understands a new concept. I want to be a good mother, but I know I am also capable of more than that.

I can obtain what I want to become and accomplish. I can do the things I love. Writing, designing, discovering, uplifting, styling, sharing, documenting. Most of all, I know I can do amazing things. I can reach the potential I have yet to realize. I can have the perspective to see past those who judge, criticize, and hold me back. I am stronger than anyones words or opinions. I can rise above my doubts and the doubts of others.

This quote is a reminder of that. Never give up. Never lose sight of your dreams. Be you and know it's the best thing you can be. It's what I want to be. It's what I want for all of you, too! Be yourself. Believe in yourself. You are capable of unbelievable things, and no one can hold you back! So today, push a little harder. Give a little more, and work for what you want to accomplish. You deserve it.
