Braided Headband Video Tutorial
Braided Headband Video Tutorial

Boy, oh boy, has this month been crazy! I've been working on something new and super exciting that I can't wait to tell you more about!!

ANYWAYYYY...For those of you who follow me on Instagram, I've been working on this video for you for what seems like an eternity. I felt rushed during the actual filming of this video because I was doing it while both the boys were napping, a very small window, but somehow I managed to pull it off! Just so you know, my hair tends to look better than this when I don't feel like I'm under a time crunch, but at least this will show you how to achieve this look yourself. Try it out and let me know what you think! I hope you love it!

Thanks for watching, loves!

No Heat Waves with Savvy Curls Wraps!

Ever since I discovered headband curls, I've been hooked. My hair has recently been lightened which leaves it feeling extra dry and brittle. Because of this, I try to use as many no heat methods as possible to help my hair stay as healthy as possible as I grow it out. I've always wrapped my hair around a regular fabric headband while it's barely damp, because it won't curl when my hair is completely dry. And having only one band made it hard to wrap with all of the layers I recently added to my hair. Well, guess what? Savvy Curls solves both of these problems.

No Heat Waves with Savvy Curls || ADOS || no heat curl method, beauty, style, healthy, hair

I started with dry hair, added a styling product, wrapped my hair around both bands and ended up with beautiful heat free waves after only a couple hours of dry time! Now I'm going to walk you through a step by step tutorial of how I got these waves with my Savvy Curls Convertible Wrap

Pictorial || No Heat Waves with Savvy Curls || How to, tutorial, healthy hair

1. I started with freshly washed and dried hair. Then I added one of my favorite all natural Evolvh Ultimate Styling Lotion from the mid-shaft to ends of my hair.

2. Once I felt I had covered all of my hair with styling product, I seperated a top section of my crown to reserve it to wrap around the second band. Then I applied my Savvy Curls Wrap around my head.

3. I started wrapping my hair around the wrap from front to back on one side, then switched to the other side. Once I had wrapped all of the ends around the band several times, I secured it with bobby pins.

4. I let down the hair I originally pulled up, and wrapped it one side at a time. Then secured the ends with bobby pins.

5. Once I had finished, I took a break to eat some lunch and do some things around the house. Came back a couple hours later and started to take out the wrap. It's easiest if you unsnap the top band first, and then gently pull the other band off.

6. I ran my fingers through the curls to separate them slightly, Sprayed it with a little hairspray, and that was it! I had beautiful, soft, healthy waves in my hair all day long! Even my husband couldn't help but mention how beautiful it looked!

I love that this headband is specifically designed for the purpose of curling your hair. It uses the thermal heat naturally radiated from your scalp to set effortless and healthy curls in your hair! No more waiting ALL DAY for my headband curls to dry, and hello to beautiful bouncy waves in no time at all! You want one too? I don't blame you. It's your lucky day!  Savvy Curls is offering a promo code just for you, my lovely readers! Use code savvyc1 to receive $2 off of your order!

Twisted Mermaid Braid Tutorial
Twisted Mermaid Braid Tutorial || ADOS || YouTube Video || long, thick, brunette, bridal, mermaid braid hair style

It's friday! YAYYYY!!! And I'm so excited to share this hair tutorial I did on my beautiful BFF Olivia! We're both posting collaborative videos today, so make sure to go check out her YouTube channel and watch our No Mirror Makeup Challenge! It was so much fun, you'll definitely want to check it out to see how we did.

I had a twisted mermaid braid style in mind as soon as Livvy and I talked about doing videos together. I've never worked with such long, luscious, and thick hair before. It was a dream come true! It turned out even more gorgeous than I originally imagined. I improvised as I was styling, and still would do things a little differently if I were to do it over again. Still, not bad for a style i've never tried before! This was my first time videoing a tutorial on someone else's head so I step in front of the camera a few times, sorry in advance! I hope you still enjoy this video! I had so much fun! Make sure to like & subscribe to my channel so you never miss a video in the future! :)

PRODUCTS:
I used Evolvh Polishing Balm to help with frizz and flyaways, meta grip bob pins, and small elastics to secure the hair in place. I also finished with a generous spray of Aussie hairspray across the whole style.

I mean...can you believe that is all her natural hair???? GIVE ME ALL THE MERMAID BRAIDS!!! What styles do you want me to do tutorials on?? Leave a suggestion in the comments below!

HOLIDAY HAIR SERIES: Finale! Topsy Tail Updo
Holiday Hair Series || Topsy Tail Updo || Episode 4 || A Dash of Salter

This is the final episode in my Holiday Hair Series. My first hair tutorial series, ever. It was so much fun to put these together. I definitely have learned a lot about shooting video and I know I still have a long way to go. I want to know what you guys think though…are the videos more helpful or should I revert back to pictorials?

Anyway, I love this Topsy Tail Updo! It looks surprisingly chic with hardly any effort. It’s what I wish every hairstyle could be. (#momlife am I right?!) It’s all I have the time and energy for these days.

Bumpdate for you guys. I’m 23 weeks now, I’ve gained 5 pounds in the last 2 weeks and i officially feel the waddle coming on. I know the discomfort has only just begun, but it’s so fun that I’m showing now. It’s obvious that I’m pregnant and not just putting on the holiday pounds.

Even though there’s been plenty of that too.

Baby Grey is kicking all the time and I can’t believe how strong he is already. I’m hoping he is just a little lighter than Turner was (8 lbs 1 oz) come birthing time, but so far he seems just as big if not bigger. I’m starting to think about how crazy it’s going to be to have two little boys in diapers, which is giving me just a little anxiety. Probably more than I actually realize.

And yet, watching Turner this holiday season has made me more excited than ever to have another precious little human around. His enthusiasm to the trees, lights, snow, nativity, music, and giving has made my heart so full this year. He is so curious and eager to learn. His daily discoveries bring so much joy into my life. I can only imagine what it will be like to watch Turner interact with his little brother and they can learn together.

Christmas is this Friday and we’re officially ready for it to arrive! Gifts are wrapped, groceries are purchased and we’re ready for a week full of cuddles, reflection, and love with our family! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas filled with joy and love! XO
