4th of July || Free Printables

I know this is after the fact, but I made these printables before life got new house crazy. I love this country so much and I thought I'd share them with you anyway. I'm only like a week late, right? You could still enjoy a whole month with these in your home, maybe even some year round patriotism? Ha!

Regardless, I was really touched by this quote I found by Joseph Campbell and want to remember it all year long. I'll be forever indebted to all of the heroes who make this country a free and better place. I'm extremely grateful to live in a place where I am free to speak, vote, work, and practice the religion of my choice. I live a very blessed and happy life because of those freedoms. I hope you all had a wonderful 4th with those that you love. You can find the download links below the images, as usual!

Happy Birthday, ADOS!!
Happy 2nd Birthday, ADOS! || Cheree ||

Yesterday was the second blogiversary of A Dash of Salter. On July 5th, 2014 I posted my very first blog post. Ever since that day, this blog has been a great source of therapy for me. I can't believe how many people I have met, friends I have made, kindness I have received and opportunities I have had because of this blog. I'm so grateful that my joy for writing and creating is something I can share with others. Now that we're starting to get settled in our new home, I'm hoping I can start contributing regularly to my blog again.

It's been so sweet to focus solely on my little family during these last couple months. I can't believe how big my boys are getting, and I've really been trying to cherish each moment of the day with them. I feel so much gratification in motherhood, but there are still many parts of me that long for more. It's so important to me that I continue to cultivate and nurture my own talents and interests. I'm so much happier when I fill myself with individualized, uplifting activities. It makes me a better person, wife and mother. Blogging, or life journaling, is definitely one of those activities.

Thank you to all of the people who have followed along! I share with the hope that others will be uplifted, inspired or touched after spending time here. I truly hope that all of you can find this a place of authenticity, encouragement and happiness.

New Wall Hangings for Sale on ADOS SHOP!

I'm so excited to announce that my first four wall hanging designs are finally finished and will be sold in the ADOS SHOP starting TODAY! The inspiration for this craft venture began when my husband and I were discussing other ways to bring in extra income for our growing family. I was interested in making myself a yarn wall hanging and my husband thought it'd be a great thing to sell in our shop. So, I started sketching designs and came up with these pieces!

To describe the items briefly, the strands of yarn are handwoven around a 12 inch brass colored steel ring. The lengths range from 27-29 inches from the top of the ring to the longest strands of yarn. Each design is original and created by me. Each of them have such a beautiful modern, minimalist flare that is bound to look amazing in any home!

There is only one of each in stock, but you can ask for the same design upon custom request! If you want a certain design, but with a different size ring or different colors I can do that as well! Go to our Etsy shop and click request custom order on the left sidebar.

I loved creating these and I'll be sad to see them leave the walls of my home. I hope that you love them too!

Our First Sale in Progress!
Our First Sale in Progress || Etsy || ADOS Shop || A Dash of Salter

We sold our first table on our Etsy shop this weekend! I couldn't be more excited about it! My husband and I worked on it together on our date night. We make a pretty great team, if I do say so myself.

We're learning really quickly how realistic our shipping prices are, because our first customer lives all the way in Maine! Basically the furthest state from Utah in the U.S. So here's to hoping we can find an affordable rate. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Since Matthew completely took over on our table, I was super stoked to be a part of the creating process this time around. I love doing projects like this! It's simple and turns out beautiful. I hope that our customer loves it just as much.

On Saturday we sold ANOTHER table! So we officially have two sales and a lot of work to do! I was hoping I could sell one of my plush toys soon, but I plan on making one for a friend. Keep an eye out for a new arrival in the shop!

I love being able to create and share that with others! I'm so excited about our sales I just had to tell you guys.

HAPPY MONDAY!!

ADOS Shop is OPEN

So my husband and I like to create things in our free time, and after being asked several times about our creations we decided to set up shop. That's when the ADOS Etsy Shop was born! - ADOS stands for A Dash of Salter - probably obvious, but thought I should say it anyway.

When I made this fox for my son before he was born, I decided it would be a good gift to give all the new and upcoming mom's in my life. After being asked multiple times if I sell them I thought, why don't I? (Hit the side arrows on the fox to see more of my animal creations)

After a similar story of my husband and our DIY mid century coffee table, here we are! Sharing our creations with you in a custom, special, made to order way.

Follow the link in the navigation bar at the top of the page that says SHOP and give our Etsy some love! Then come back to the blog and comment with some suggestions of things you would like to see in our shop! We'd love to have your input to help us continue creating things that people love!

I'm so excited for this new addition to A Dash of Salter and hope you like it too!
Lots of love!
